§2.7 · Shooting
Jumpshots and builds
Fast, straight releases give the widest green windows. If you brick with sensible values, the jumpshot is almost always the problem.
01Purpose
A millisecond value is only as good as the animation it is timing. Slow or hitchy jumpshots move the green window around in ways no single value can follow. yew's guidance is simple: fast and straight.
02Recommended
| Part | yew's guidance |
|---|---|
| Base | Oscar Robertson, Steph Curry, Damian Lillard |
| Releases | Oscar/Oscar or Curry/Curry |
| Release speed | Max |
| Blend (if mixing) | 50/50 |
03Avoid
- Slow bases (Kobe, MJ).
- Exaggerated wind-ups.
- Hitchy animations — anything with a pause mid-motion.
04Build
Prioritize shooting attributes — a 90+ three — over dunk packages.
05Notes
- Change the jumpshot before you chase a value. Then re-tune Auto-Green from the default with the early → raise, late → lower rule.
- Test in online MyCourt, not offline.
